In the case reported here, the patient was young, had no comorbidities, and presented with a voluminous mass in the right intrathoracic right region, the initial diagnostic suspicion pointing to sarcoma. In accordance with the literature, the analysis of clinical data and CT images obtained can only suggest primary sarcoma of the thorax as one of the differential diagnoses; the differentiation between sarcoma subtypes is only possible through pathological examination of the biopsy sample. متن کاملEndotracheal Tuberculosis and Aspergillosis Co-Infection Manifested as Acute Respiratory Failure: A Case Report
Background: Endotracheal and endobronchial tuberculosis are defined by microbiological and histopathological evidence of tuberculosis involving tracheobronchial tree, with or without parenchymal involvement. Tracheal tuberculosis is a rare and localized form of tuberculosis which can present itself with acute respiratory failure due to upper airway obstruction. Case presentation: We present a c...
متن کاملTracheobronchial Tuberculosis Without Lung Involvement
Endotracheal tuberculosis (ETTB) is an infrequent form of tuberculosis whose major feature is the infection of the tracheobronchial tree by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This case presents a 73-year-old man admitted to our hospital with fatigue, weakness, dry cough and weight loss. His chest X-ray was normal but the high resolution computed tomography (HRCT) showed normal parenchyma images with m...

Post-intubation TEF is the most common form of acquired, non-malignant TEF and is usually associated with tracheal stenosis, which makes the treatment more challenging. Here, we present our experience of managing 21 patients with post-intubation TEF. Materials & ...

Introduction: Idiopathic subglottic tracheal stenosis is a rare inflammatory disease of the trachea; most commonly affects females within the age range of 20-50 years. No etiologic factor has yet been identified for this rare tracheal disease and therefore it should be diagnosed after the exclusion of other inflammatory, traumatic, and autoimmune diseases of the trachea. The familial or g...
متن کاملEndobronchial tuberculosis with expectoration of tracheal cartilages.
A case of endotracheal tuberculosis with expectorations of the lateral one-third of the multiple tracheal cartilages is reported. Fibreoptic bronchoscopy revealed caseous materials and loosening of the tracheal cartilages. The patient expectorated cartilaginous material several times before and after fibreoptic bronchoscopy. In spite of the loss of tracheal cartilages, tracheal lumen was mainta...
